Moab Daily and Herdina Park

This weekend we did the Moab Daily again, from Hittle Bottom to Take Out Beach. There are a few sections of whitewater and it was the first time taking the packraft through anything difficult. It did pretty well, it just gets swamped with water really easily and then becomes difficult to paddle.

Kai the River Dog and the Fisher Towers.

A few days later I explored Herdina Park in Arches National Park. We didn’t really have a solid route in mind and wandered around looking for ways through the canyons. We ended up setting up two improvised rappels and managed to retrieve the anchors from both, leaving nothing behind.

Standing in the Whale Arch.

Looking out towards the La Sals after scrambling up.

Hiking through an easy section of canyon.

Looking for a way down a dryfall.

Hiking across slickrock.

Nicely stacked domino rocks.

One of the rappels.

A rough outline of our route.
