Return to Snowmass
Went back to Snowmass, here’s a short video and some pictures. Arm in a sling so no captions.
Herdina Park, December 2019
Here’s a picture and video from hiking this weekend in Herdina Park.
Elephant Butte, November 2019
Here are some pictures from another trip up Elephant Butte, the high point of Arches National Park. It’s a scramble route with two rappels, not really canyoneering but not really technical rock climbing either. The first rappel, 90 feet or so. Slickrock ramps near the top. Steep and sandy due to recent rain. Final moves […]
Blue Lakes Hike and Canyonlands
Last weekend I went on a short overnight backpacking trip to the San Juans near Telluride. It was a great hike and the lakes themselves were spectacular. Only drawback o the trip was I broke a segment of my tenkara fishing pole. Downtown Telluride. This was my first time visiting and it’s a really cool […]
Two Mountains, Crystal Peak, CO and Mt. Peale, UT
I recently hiked two peaks and got some decent pictures from the hikes. The first was Crystal Peak in Colorado, in between Frisco and Copper Mountain. It’s 13,852ft and an easy class II hike to the top. Nice wildflowers on the hike in. Approaching the mountain, still out of view. Getting higher, still unable to […]

Monument Valley and Hovenweep National Monument
We finally made it down to check out Monument Valley. It was worth the drive, the towns of Mexican Hat and Bluff are interesting little southern Utah towns and the Wingate Towers in Monument Valley were just incredible. We camped at Goosenecks Overlook State Park. The sunset was great and we could see Monument Valley […]
11.21.2017 Indian Creek and Hunter Canyon
We went on a short hike in the Kane Creek area. This is a really pretty area just a short drive from Moab. The weather was really nice. The next day I went out to Indian Creek and got to climb some cracks. This one is about 80 feet high and big enough to fit […]
Moab Daily and Herdina Park
This weekend we did the Moab Daily again, from Hittle Bottom to Take Out Beach. There are a few sections of whitewater and it was the first time taking the packraft through anything difficult. It did pretty well, it just gets swamped with water really easily and then becomes difficult to paddle. Kai the River […]
